Extraction featured tons of epic and thrilling fight scenes when it hit Netflix earlier this year. Sam Hargrave, who was responsible for the action sequences in the film, will bring his skills in crafting such intense scenes to the galaxy far, far away.

In a new report from the Collider, the filmmaker confirmed that he was hired as a second unit director for the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. He was actually able to finish working on the show before productions were put on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"They actually came to me," Hargrave revealed on how the opportunity to be involved in the show came about. "It's crazy."

He further explained that he was in the middle of post-production for Extraction. Hargrave was editing the movie when he got a call from one of the line producers, Colin Wilson. The filmmaker was told that Jon Favreau and the team are looking for someone who has experience with action to be added to the family.

"The team that was there did a great job in the first season and it was just all fun," he added. "But they wanted to build on that and bring a new perspective and take it to another level for the next season. So, I was like, ‘That sounds like a fun challenge.'"

Hargrave says it was a "really fascinating adventure" to film the series. He revealed that they had a "crazy way of shooting" but some stuff was "traditionally shot." There's also "The Volume," which is sort of life a "live game engine," that was "really eye-opening."
