After two years filled with intrigue, The Mandalorian Season 3 finally addressed the whole Cara Dune situation but in the vaguest way imaginable. In the premiere episode of the hit Star Wars show's third season, it was explained by Greef Karga that Marshal Dune was recruited by the special forces following the capture of Moff Gideon in Season 2.

Believe it or not, that's all there was and the character wasn't mentioned all throughout Chapter 17. Unsurprisingly, the show's revelation surrounding Cara's true status garnered a strong reaction from the Star Wars fandom but for the most part, they found it quite hilarious.

Now, Gina Carano is airing her sentiments two years after she was fired from Disney due to her controversial social media posts. Taking to Twitter, Carano officially bid farewell to her The Mandalorian character and thanked the fans who have supported her brief Star Wars journey.

The ex-MMA fighter wrote: "Thank you all for the support you’ve shown me not only over the past few days but over the past few years and some of you even longer from my early MMA days. You’ll never know how much that support matters and makes a difference. It was an honor to play Cara Dune, she will always have a special place in my heart. 'Until our paths cross.'"

Despite Carano's exit from the show, Chapter 17 was a dead giveaway that Lucasfilm still plans to bring Cara Dune back although we're guessing not anytime soon. Obviously, it's a logical move on their part given how the character has already generated her own following and was at one point poised to lead her own spinoff series.

The Mandalorian Season 3's next episode will hit Disney+ this Wednesday.
