It's been over a year since Disney and Lucasfilm decided to let go of Gina Carano from the Star Wars franchise but despite her removal from The Mandalorian, the former mixed martial arts fighter continues to be a favorite amongst fans. In fact, it was announced this week that the Cara Dune actress will be making an appearance at the FAN EXPO convention this July in Denver along with her Star Wars compeers Ming-Na Wen, Carl Weathers, and voice actress Ashley Eckstein.

It's quite obvious that fans are still behind the Cara Dune character as a whole which is why Carano is one of the headliners of the event. However, in a shocking turn of events, the expo's featured charity Pop Culture Classroom is demanding the removal of the Deadpool actress from the guest lineup.

Issuing a statement on Twitter, the organization said: "PCC was not consulted on the booking of Gina Carano and opposes her involvement in the FAN EXPO Denver event." They added that "Carano's past comments and actions are at direct odds with our organization's mission to celebrate diversity and build inclusive pop culture spaces where all feel welcomed."

No word yet if FAN EXPO Denver will actually pull Gina out of the event. You can read the full statement below:

To give you a little refresher, Carano's socio-political views were responsible for her Disney firing last year and it looks like no matter what she does, she'll never escape the shadow of her controversial ousting from the company.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 will address Cara Dune's status in the Star Wars universe.
