Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi Dons The Black Mask In Awesome Fan Art

People can't get enough of the recent announcement that Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of DC's Birds of Prey as the villainous Black Mask. Naturally, somebody thought it would be cool to create a Black Mask/Obi-Wan Kenobi mash-up.

The impressive fan art was created by artist Boss Logic, who specializes in all things geeky. Take a look at the image below.

We certainly weren't expecting to see something like this but it's still awesome to see Obi-Wan in a different light. Perhaps this is what Ben Kenobi might look like if he decided to join the Dark Side? He certainly looks like he could take on Darth Vader any day.

McGregor's casting in Birds of Prey was met with enthusiasm. After all, the DC Universe series already boasts of an all-star cast. Needless to say, it would be interesting to see the Star Wars actor reunite with Fargo co-star and current girlfriend Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who will play Huntress in the show.

Although it's great to know that McGregor will be working on the series, some fans were concerned that this means there is no future for the Obi-Wan Kenobi film. Although it was previously reported that the standalone movie has been put on hold, people are still hoping that it will be greenlighted soon. Let's cross our fingers on the possibility that McGregor will reprise the role once Disney and Lucasfilm decide to move forward with the project.

Birds of Prey has not yet been given an official premiere date. Nevertheless, the series is expected to air on DC Universe by 2019.
