While the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been delayed, Star Wars fans are still hyped up to see Ewan McGregor reprise his legendary role for the show. Of course, they aren't the only ones excited for the series, because the actor himself can't wait to "put the cloak back on."

In a recent appearance on Good Morning America, McGregor can't reveal much information of course, but the actor did mention that they'll start shooting "at the very beginning of next year."

"They're in pre-production from this summer," McGregor added. "There are scripts that I've read that are really good, they're continuing to write on them to make them even better."

He admits that he's "excited" about reprising his role since it's been "a while" since he last shot a scene as the iconic character, but McGregor doesn't seem too worried about playing the character once again. "It'll just be there, I think," he said.

As he mentioned before, McGregor is "reminding" himself by watching new films as well as The Mandalorian, which he "really enjoyed." This is to keep him updated and "as current" as he can in the Lucasfilm world. "I don't think it will take two minutes," he continued. "I'll put the cloak back on and I'll be there, I think."

While the show is delayed, McGregor revealed in a previous interview that the scripts for the show were "really good" and that there's nothing to worry about. He assured the fans that the studio is still "shooting towards" having it released when it was "going to be originally."

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has not been given an official release date but is expected to air on Disney+ in late 2021.
