Everyone's Onboard A Michael Keaton Batman Beyond Movie Directed By Ben Affleck

While Ben Affleck will no longer be playing Batman in upcoming DC Extended Universe films, he is still very interested in returning to the franchise as a director.

This naturally stirred the imagination of fans, who now want to see him helm a live-action Batman Beyond movie. They believe that Michael Keaton will be perfect for the role of an older Bruce Wayne. The idea is for the film to be set in the same universe and continuity so that his version in the 1989 classic Batman directed by Tim Burton still sticks.

There's no time like the present for such a project especially since the Batman Beyond animated series was set in the year 2019. Keaton's Batman would be the right age too because he will be training someone new to take the mantle. This will also fit with the reports that Warner Bros. is looking for a younger actor to succeed Affleck.

Instead of Burton, who is said to have lost interest in revisiting the Batman legacy he created, fans thought that Affleck might do a good job. In fact, in the Batman solo film, he was originally going to direct, write, and star in it, but admitted that he ultimately "couldn't crack it," when he announced the conclusion of his short run.

Is there any chance of this happening? The truth is that Keaton appears to have moved on from the character, and his film Birdman seems to have made that clear. However, he seems to still be very much into superhero films, having recently played the iconic Marvel villain Vulture in Spiderman: Homecoming.

The actor has also shown interest in reprising his most iconic characters. In fact, he is reportedly keen on making a Beetlejuice sequel happen after reuniting with Burton for the Dumbo live-action.

The only thing that would make the Affleck-Keaton team-up is having Mark Hamill as Joker. Although famous as the Batman villain's voice in animated shows and video games, the Star Wars legend is expected to pull off a live-action version as well.
