Everyone Wants to Fight in The Walking Dead

The following for The Walking Dead has never really picked up—oddly enough, this happened even after the entrance of what should have been the biggest bad of the series so far.

Now that the series is nearing the finale, it seems that Rick's group has started to revert back to their old selves and find the fighting spirit (quite literally) that they used to have before they were essentially broken by Negan.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Scott M. Gimple hinted that the last three episodes off the current season will ramp up the pace.

"We step on the gas and we do not let our foot off the gas until the end of episode 16. Although because I'm working on season 8 now, the foot is on the gas again! I mean, the next three episodes we're going to shoot you through a lot of big events and things become quantum intense."

The season finale is supposed to have a little of everything, which can be an insane promise, given how the last cliffhanger ending was torn apart by critics and fans alike. For now, the showrunner is looking at the season wrap-up in hopeful manner.

The Walking Dead airs every Sunday on AMC.
