EVERGLOW Onda is now grieving following the news about her father’s sudden death.
On May 30, EVERGLOW’s agency, Yuehua Entertainment, released an official statement regarding the death of Onda’s father. It was also shared with the girl group’s fan cafe.
“EVERGLOW member Onda recently lost her father. Onda had been focused on taking care of her father during this time, and as a result, the frequency of communication with fans was unintentionally reduced. We apologize for the lack of communication with fans during this time,” the company said.
Yuehua Entertainment asked for fans’ understanding and warm support amid the trying times.
Onda and her family have not released a personal statement to address the matter. But the K-pop idol is expected to focus on her family in the next few weeks or months.
The patriarch’s cause of death remains unknown, but it was assumed that he passed away due to health issues.

EVERGLOW Onda Receives Heartwarming Support From Fans
Following the revelation of the news, fans of EVERGLOW and Onda took to social media and delivered their message of condolences to Onda and the bereaved family.
They told the idol to take all the time she needs and not hurry to return and resume her activities with EVERGLOW.

One said, “I’m truly sorry for her loss, I hope her and her family take time to mourn and make peace with the situation. Take as much time as you need to Onda.”
“Unfortunate. She had seemed a bit muted and down for the past year or so, I guess she was dealing with heavy stuff. Hope she has a lot of support from the people around her,” another wrote.
EVERGLOW To Perform at K-pop Festival
Despite Onda’s absence, EVERGLOW will push through its plans to perform at the 2022 K-pop festival HallyuPopFest in London in July. It is set to take place on July 9 and 10 at the 12,500-capacity OVO Arena Wembley in London.
Aside from EVERGLOW, MAMAMOO singer Hwasa, ASTRO, ONEUS, SF9, and CRAVITY will serve as the event’s guests.
“HallyuPopFest came about because we wanted to create a festival experience where K-pop fans from all over, from various fandoms, could come together and celebrate their fervent idol support, boundless energy and love for music and dance that are the cornerstones of K-pop,” chief executive of the Singapore-headquartered HAH Entertainment Selena Ho said.
