Evangeline Lilly Reacts To Hope's Fate In Ant-Man And The Wasp Post-Credits Scene

Evangeline Lilly might not be happy about what happened to Hope van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp. The former Lost star has admitted that she wasn't happy to see her character's fate in the post-credits scene.

Lilly recently spoke to ComicBook.com about the sequence that connected her film to Avengers: Infinity War. Interestingly, the Ant-Man and the Wasp star was shocked to see Hope disintegrate along with Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).

"My honest reaction was, 'Okay, so how is she going to get out of this?'" Lilly admitted. "And my kind of full reaction was like, 'Hang on a minute! I just got here! You can't kill me already! I just got here!'"

Lilly's reaction is certainly on point. Fans were delighted at how Hope managed to outshine Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. Although most people were hoping that the two would eventually join the fight in Avengers 4, Hope's future now appears bleak.

But is it possible that The Wasp will be back in Avengers 4? Lilly has previously confirmed that Hope will have a small part in the MCU flick. The actress expressed interest in being one of the major fighters but didn't reveal how her role will play out. It might seem like the character might not be facing Thanos in the long run but it's good to know that the Wasp will return in the future.

Although we're still not sure if Hope will be fighting in Avengers 4, there is little doubt that Ant-Man is one of the major players in the sequel. Rudd has already been spotted filming scenes with Chris Evans so that's one awesome thing to look forward to next year.

The official title for Avengers 4 has not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, the film is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
