Evangeline Lilly is Petitioning for Wasp Solo Movie

Evangeline Lilly has been a staple in the MCU for several years now as she has played Hope van Dyne since 2015's Ant-Man. So far, it looks like she will be part of the franchise for a long time (unless her fate in Quantumania will seal that) and there are some fans who are wondering whether she will also get her own solo project at some point.

Speaking with Variety during the red carpet premiere event of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Lilly expressed her interest in doing a Wasp standalone film as she declared that she is ready to get her own adventure in the MCU.

"Well, I'm going to make a pitch that, I think it might be time for a Hope spin-off. For a Wasp standalone film. Do we agree? Anybody? Going once? Going twice?," she said.

The actress also discussed what it feels like to be a veteran in the MCU where she called herself "an Avengers senior" as well as her excitement about how they have become central characters of the franchise at the same level as Iron Man and Captain America.

"I had this moment when we're at CCXP, the Brazil Comic-Con, where we came out on stage and something just clicked where I realized 'I've become an Avengers senior.' Like I've gone from being a junior to being a senior," Lilly added.

"And that was kind of neat, because when we first came into the universe it was so established with Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, and all the original gangsters. And we were just like these new kids on the block who were trying to earn out stripes. And now all of a sudden we're in the center at the launching point of Phase 5, and it feels really cool."

With several characters in the MCU that were usually shown as supporting players now getting their own solo projects through the Disney+ projects or becoming key figures in upcoming films, it is not impossible at this point that Marvel will do a project centering on the Wasp herself.

There are some fans who will certainly be interested to see it happen since the character has become beloved and it would be interesting to see what her journey will look like without Scott Lang around. It would be curious to see whether Lilly's wish will end up happening.
