Evangeline Lilly Downplays Leaking Marvel Spoilers Despite New Company Policy

Marvel Studios is known for keeping a tight lip on any potentially massive spoilers for their future projects, be it a crew member or a stellar actor in an MCU film or series, however, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly reveals she is not afraid of leaking a few Marvel secrets despite the new company policy. Recently appearing on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lilly confessed two things:

“I’m really not good at keeping secrets,” Lilly admitted, “And I’m really rebellious against the whole secrets thing. Because I’m like, ‘Guys, this isn’t Pentagon secrets; we’re not holding really, really life-changing important information.”

Lilly downplayed the idea of having sealed lips on the entire Marvel Phases, comparing it to the time when she was on LOST: “[When I was on] LOST, we were sort of the beginning of that secretive thing, because Twitter was invented while I was shooting LOST… And so, the fans got crazy, and suddenly there were people hungry to find out what happened next,”

The Wasp actress continued on to say how she was joked into having her next screenplays delivered in a “lockbox” for more security in preventing further leaks on the series: “And I was like, ‘There’s no way! I’m not installing a lockbox! It’s a script: you’re going to deliver it, you’re going to leave it on my porch.’ And they were like, ‘If I do that, I will be fired. I have to put it in a lockbox…’ I never did install the lockbox.”

While it’s true that keeping secrets about the MCU might be a minor detail to throw people off into not watching the actual film in theaters, Marvel Studios has just recently changed their company policy to prevent massive spoiler leaks. It remains to be seen how the new company policy could lessen such, but as of current, no Marvel spoiler has ever really stopped MCU fans from still seeing it in theaters.

For now, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is hitting theaters on February 17, 2023.
