Erik Killmonger To Reportedly Return In Black Panther 2

Marvel's had many, many villains over the years. Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger became one of the franchise's fan-favorite villains with many praising the character for his depth and for his motivations. Unfortunately, Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa had to kill his cousin at the end of Black Panther.

Interestingly enough, word on the street says that Black Panther 2 could very well bring back Killmonger. Independent UK just recently released a list of scoops on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and according to the publication, Marvel Scooper Oger Wardell says that Black Panther 2 might actually feature an appearance from Killmonger.

Fans don't have to worry, because Killmonger won't be resurrected in the film. Instead, Jordan's character is set to exist in the "spiritual plane" of Wakanda. Wardell also claims that Black Panther 2 is going to be a politically charged entry, teasing the arrival of the Queen Divine Justice, a Wakandan princess that was secretly raised in America by one of T'Challa's warriors.

Of course, this isn't the first time that we're hearing rumors about Jordan returning to the MCU. Earlier this year there were reports about Marvel planning to resurrect Killmonger, though we honestly believe that having him appear in the spiritual plane seems like a much better option. A resurrection would diminish Killmonger's death in the first Black Panther movie. Marvel has a bad habit of resurrecting characters. We'd rather not see them do that again.

Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
