We all see Henry Cavill beating everybody in a fight in virtually all of his projects. However, things don't turn out so well for him in Enola Holmes 2. In the sequel, fans were surprised to see Cavill's Sherlock Holmes getting beat up but it's a role that he's also proud of. The Black Adam star has spoken about how his supporting role is an important one for the film.
Henry Cavill recently spoke to Collider to promote Enola Holmes 2 and he discussed in length what it was like to have his character getting beat up in the sequel.
"There is something novel about being the one who gets his ass kicked," Cavill said. "There's an important piece which you play to that. It goes in line with being a supporting actor. As a supporting actor in this, I'm supporting an older story."
He continued, "As a guy who can get his ass kicked in a room, I'm supporting everyone else's story in that room. Where, if you are the guy who kicks everyone else's ass, because that's not the truth in real life, you have to rely on everyone else in the room to sell that as well."
"It can't just be up to you. So it's novel to be one of the players in support of that, rather than relying on everyone else to be the one selling that," Cavill concluded.
It's an interesting perspective considering that Cavill is usually the lead star in most of his projects. Still, it is great to see him in a supporting role opposite Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, who truly shines in Enola Holmes 2.
Enola Holmes 2 also stars Louis Partridge, Susie Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Helena Bonham Carter, David Thewlis, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. The film is now streaming on Netflix.
