Following the second season’s latest episode, The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 announced two new voice cast members. These VAs are the voices of the new characters introduced in Episode 4 of Season 2.
Even before the second season, the show already had a voice cast that was filled with a lot of big names. Now, the new season is adding even more popular VAs.
It’s not that the anime needs more star power though, especially given that The Eminence in Shadow is already one of the most popular shows of the season.
The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Is One of Fall 23’s Highlights
The Eminence in Shadow is an isekai anime by Nexus (of Comic Girls and Darwin’s Game fame) that began in the Fall 22 season.
That season was one of the most stacked in recent memory, with Chainsaw Man and Bocchi the Rock! dominating discussions. Unlike those titles, Eminence continued until Winter 23 because of its unusual episode count.
In Winter 23, the show’s popularity skyrocketed, enough that it became one of the most talked-about shows of the season. Thus, the show was quickly renewed for a second season which premiered this month.
Currently, it can be said that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End are among the most popular shows of the Fall 23 season.
Along with these two, The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 is also one of the highlights.
Aside from having lots of posts on X after every episode, the show is also consistently in the top 5 on AnimeKarmaList, which is based on weekly Reddit discussion threads.

Two New VAs Join The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Cast
The new season’s fourth episode aired just recently, and it featured two new characters that got attention from fans. Shortly after the episode’s release, the voice actors for the new characters were revealed.
First is Jun Fukuyama as John Smith. Fukuyama is a popular VA who voiced characters such as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass, Kraft Lawrence in Spice and Wolf, and King in The Seven Deadly Sins.
The other new character is Gettan who is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa, another popular VA. He is best known for voicing Ulquiorra Cifer in Bleach, Hisoka Morow in Hunter x Hunter (2011), and Choso in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fans will get to see more of these new characters as The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 continues. The show’s next episode will air next week on November 1.
