The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Ending Explained
The title of The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 12 is The Highest, and it picks up where the previous episode left off as Mordred initiates the banquet of slaughter for the Kingdom of Oriana by summoning the Archfiend Ragnarok and activating Black Rose.
Here's the ending of The Eminence in Shadow Season 2, explained in detail.
The Shadow Garden in Action
Alpha receives a report that Black Rose has been activated in Oriana. Eta suggests sending a ship, but Alpha answers that everything will be fine since Shadow is there.
The Shadow Garden reveals themselves to Mordred, allowing Rose to escape. Shadow faces Ragnarok, while Beta and Epsilon deal with Mordred.
Mordred uses the invisible blade, an ancient elven artifact that unleashes an unseeable sword, but Beta and Epsilon mock him instead.
The fighting begins with Beta and Epsilon using a blade of magical energy, an artifact Mordred was not aware of.
Meanwhile, Rose encounters Margaret and asks her to unlock the cellar under the garden for the residents to take refuge. Rose plans to rally the knights and lead them into town.
While Shadow continues to fight Ragnarok, Mordred has been bested by Beta and Epsilon. They confront Mordred about the Black Rose, the magical beasts, and the cult.
At first, Mordred was hesitant, but he eventually gave in to the belief that Ragnarok would defeat the Shadow Garden.
Mordred’s Information About the Realm
No one knows what or who is at the center, but Mordred thinks it’s a god, which means he wasn’t able to observe it. However, what lies in the center is not the problem at hand, given the countless worlds revolving around it.
Around and around, for months and years, the worlds follow their courses, and occasionally they collide. When they do, the differing worlds become connected.
For instance, the world’s biosphere underwent a dramatic change that led to the decline of dragons exactly 10 million years ago.
They couldn’t adapt to the magic that flowed from one world to another and those that could adapt to the new environment began to flourish in the dragons’ stead.
In addition, Mordred reveals that the demon Diablos was most certainly a product of their world and did not come from another realm.
However, the original was not since the creature that became the basis for the demon Diablos was a visitor from a realm known as the First Realm. They gained wisdom from him, including the Black Rose.
As it turns out, the Black Rose is an artificial gate to another realm. The Oriana Kingdom once opened that gate by coincidence, but magical creatures continued to spill out of the gate, devouring humans in their path, and they came to their rescue by closing the gate.
The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Ending Shows Shadow Defeating Mordred and Deactivating the Black Rose
Out of nowhere, Ragnarok was effortlessly destroyed by Shadow, much to Mordred’s anger.
Afterward, the Shadow Garden decided to go on different teams to monitor the Rose, assess the damage to the surrounding areas, and check on the rebel forces.
In a desperate attempt to stop Shadow, Mordred transforms into a demon. In the end, Shadow defeats Mordred’s demonic transformation, saying that he’s atomic before blowing him up.
On the other hand, Akane has been captured after wandering the streets at night. That’s when Shadow appears, much to Akane’s surprise
