The entire Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom rejoiced heavily when it was announced last December that Marvel Studios is finally doing a reboot of the Fantastic Four and although no other details about the project were disclosed, it's safe to assume that Kevin Feige and his crew, along with director Jon Watts are already working on the film this early in the game.

Now, it's no secret that a lot of fans have been lobbying to see John Krasinski and Emily Blunt take up 2/4 of Marvel's First Family and a persistent rumor has been going around for months now suggesting that the studio has been negotiating with the A Quite Place stars to finally join the billion-dollar franchise in an undisclosed project.

According to the said reports, things are looking promising as the husband and wife duo are in deep talks to finally make their way to the MCU after years of persuasion and the general belief within the fandom is that they're actually getting cast in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman.

However, the folks over at Small Screen are pointing out that Blunt is no longer attached to the project and has turned down the offer to play Sue Storm. Their source claims: "What I can confirm is that Emily Blunt has now ruled herself out of the running for Sue Storm in FF [Fantastic Four]. She was in talks with Marvel but opted not to sign the deal with them because it would have been for multiple films. She didn't want to have to put her family through that."

It may come across as a huge missed opportunity on Marvel Studios part but you know, at the end of the day, it's still the actor's prerogative to choose the projects they want to be involved in and if the report is actually true, you can't blame Blunt for wanting to be there for her family. That's just the way mothers are. Still, I'm sure the studio has a backup plan for the Invisible Woman role.

The MCU's Fantastic Four reboot is in active development.
