Say what you will about the Ahsoka series but it undoubtedly brought sheer joy to longtime fans of the Star Wars franchise, especially the ones who followed the Rebels animated series.

Apart from Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger was also a stand-out character, and the actor who played him in live-action couldn't be any happier being part of the franchise.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Eman Esfandi shared an interesting story about his audition for the role and how he always knew he'd land the part. He recalls: "I emailed my agent and manager six months prior to my audition and was like, ‘Hey, when they cast for Ezra Bridger, I’m going to play him. So use these pictures."

Admittedly, he wasn't a Star Wars fan growing up but after filming the series, he made it a mission to consume every content he could. Esfandi added: "I wasn’t a Star Wars person before the show. I just didn’t grow up on it. But after we shot the show, I inhaled all of it for six months."

While the actor still doesn't know what the future holds for Ezra and the rest of the Ghost Crew, he says he'd be thrilled to play him again in a potential Ahsoka Season 2 or even a movie. "If I do a second season, I’ll be happy. If we also do a movie, I’ll be so happy, and I would never need more than that," he said.

Obviously, we haven't seen the last of the Ghost Crew and with Ahsoka ending on a massive cliffhanger, it's up to Ezra to rescue Ahsoka and Sabine who were left stranded in Peridea.

Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
