Elvis Star Austin Butler Feels 'Really Honored' To Be in Dune: Part 2

We are set to meet several new characters in Dune: Part Two as more major figures of Arakkis make their debut in the sequel. One of these characters is the cunning Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen who will be played by Austin Butler. Interestingly, the Elvis! star is clearly proud to be part of the Denis Villeneuve movie. Butler has just admitted that he is "really honored" to work with the filmmaker and the all-star cast.

Austin Butler recently spoke to Variety where he confessed that he loved the 2021 movie.

"Well, I just love the first film so much. It was just a cinematic masterpiece," he said. "So the idea of getting to be a part of the world is just incredibly exciting."

Butler then added that he has always admired Denis Villeneuve's works.

"Denis is one of my favorite filmmakers and just an amazing human being. He's so kind and I'm a fan of every one of those actors in the film, so I felt really honored," he said.

He added, "It's really surreal. You feel sort of like a kid in a, you know like in your favorite film, it's like walking onto the set of any film that you admire as a kid. Like walking on to Indiana Jones or something like that ... Movies that really impact you as a kid, that's how I felt."

We totally understand where Butler is coming from considering that the sequel is based on Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and boasts an all-star cast including Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin. Needless to say, we can't wait to see his version of Feyd-Rautha in Part 2.

Dune: Part Two will introduce Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Christopher Walken as the Emperor, and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot. The sequel is scheduled for release on November 3, 2023.
