Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe reportedly had a glorious one-night stand, but it was just a one-time thing as the rock 'n' roll legend found the actress way too tall for him.

Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe were very popular during their era. According to his former associate Byron Raphael, who was an agent for the mega-famous talent conglomerate William Morris and assistant to Elvis' manager Tom Parker, he arranged the super-secret tryst between the two celebrities in 1960.
In an interview with Radar Online, Raphael said he arranged a private meeting for the duo and his pals helped. During their first meeting, Monroe declined an invitation from Presley. So, he was surprised when the Can't Help Falling in Love singer asked him to pick up the Some Like It Hot actress.
"I picked Marilyn up 'cause I got a call from Elvis and I thought that was the end of the Marilyn thing, that day at 20th Century Fox. He said, 'Pick up Marilyn.' I said, 'Really?' I remember almost distinctly and this is decades ago," Raphael shared. "It was a rainy night and I brought her to the Beverly Wilshire hotel and we went upstairs to his room."
At the time, Monroe was 34 and had a perfect magnetic sex appeal. Meanwhile, Presley was 25 and just had released his film debut, Love Me Tender and song Heartbreak Hotel.
According to Raphael, there was a spark between the two. The attraction was noticeable, and their night ended in passion.
"When he saw her, they came together and, without saying a word, started kissing," Raphael recalled. "I was in shock and I didn't know what to do. Then Marilyn, who was about ten years older, said, 'You're pretty good for a guitar player.'"
He continued, "After two minutes, they went into the bedroom and I didn't know if I was supposed to leave, or stay and wait for them, so I sort of just dozed off."
Raphael said he was awakened by the door opening, and he dove behind the bar. He saw them walk out, and the blonde actress was "so magnificent." In his recollection, he had never seen a woman that beautiful. However, he didn't say a word and just kept quiet.
He wasn't sure if Presley put her in a cab or if she stayed the night. However, it was reportedly "the most glorious one-night stand of all time."
Why Marilyn Monroe And Elvis Presley Didn't Pursue A Relationship
Raphael speculated that Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, who were both at the heights of their career, didn't pursue a relationship because it would not help their career. It might even ruin their respective careers because she was still married at the time of the tryst.
"I knew that this was the sort of thing that could ruin their careers. They were two of the most famous people in the world and Marilyn was still married to Arthur Miller at the time — so I never said a word," he explained.
Those who were married at the time had to be extra careful because there were fault divorces rather than no-fault divorces. Adultery could not only mean money but tremendous scandal too.
Two years after the alleged one-night stand, Monroe was found dead. According to Hollywood mortician Allan Abbott, her corpse was "awful", and the actress was "unrecognizable."
"When we removed the sheet covering her, it was almost impossible to believe this was the body of Marilyn Monroe," Abbott said, whose firm also handled Natalie Wood's funeral. "She looked like a very average, aging woman who had not been taking very good care of herself."
The attention and interest in Monroe heightened following the release of Netflix's drama Blonde, starring Ana de Armas. The film received mixed reactions from the viewers.
