I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that Elizabeth Olsen was once one of the most overlooked actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it wasn't until Avengers: Infinity War that she managed to turn a lot of heads with her range and depth. One of the scenes in the 2018 film that made Olsen a favorite amongst fans is the emotionally driven sequence featuring Wanda Maximoff and Vision where the future Scarlet Witch was put in an unenviable position of destroying the mind stone which later killed the synthezoid.

The scene would end up reaching "iconic" status but it turns out that Elizabeth considers it one of her most embarrassing moments in the billion-dollar franchise. Speaking with Variety, recalled how hard it was to film the aforementioned scene.

Olsen explains: "So, it’s very embarrassing shooting those kinds of things, because, like, the world depends on you doing it. And we did some improvising, which is hard to improvise those moments. But it also felt good, because at that point, Paul [Bettany] and I really had each other’s back. It was one of the last things we shot. I felt really comfortable with him as an actor if we had to improvise that beat a little bit. We were trying to find it, with the Russos guiding us. And then, once it was over, it was a huge amount of relief. And I just remember being giggly the rest of the day, while Brolin had his helmet on."

The WandaVision star continued: "And I don’t know. These movies are very silly, but you have to act your ass off for them to work. Because you’re like — [holds out her hand]. Ugh, I’m doing this in public. But you have one hand out that’s stopping something with energy. And then you’ve got another hand that’s extracting this fake thing from this dotted face. And it’s painful and emotional."

In other Scarlet Witch news, we still don't know when the Harbinger of Chaos will make her MCU return but Olsen and Kevin Feige have been teasing that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness doesn't mark the end of the beloved character.

Avengers: Infinity War is available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
