What happened in Edens Zero Episode 17?
In Edens Zero Episode 17, The Temple of Knowledge, Spider, after his defeat from the previous episode, sought the help of Drakken Joe for his plan of retaliation against the team of Shiki, however, when he approached Drakken, all that was seen was his incompetence and he was then executed for such.
Drakken realized that having an interest in Edens Zero could mean the restoration of his wealth following the destruction of Guilst so he had to contact Noah Glenfield who is known as the guild master of Shooting Starlight to retrieve information about the ship of Shiki and the rest of the crew.
The team was suspicious about the involvement of Noah following his connection to what ensued on Guilst so they sought the wise words of the omniscient fortune teller Xiaomei who was located at Mildian as to the whereabouts of Valkyrie. They pursued her spending the modeling costumes for the trip as Homura's favor to Weisz in the dress factory of the ship.
In terms of payment for the service of Xiaomei, she sent Shiki and the crew to the battle coliseum inside her temple.

Netflix and Hulu still restrict Edens Zero in Japan but it's for a good reason, they are holding all the episodes in to release it globally on the said streaming platforms as announced in the most recent Geeked Week.

Edens Zero Episode 18, titled Words Will Give You Strength, would be released in Japan on August 8, 2021, through Netflix and Hulu. As for the global release date of the anime series, it would be on August 26, 2021.
