EA's Next Star Wars Game Will Mix Online Gameplay With Single-Player Campaign

After the massive backlash that followed Star Wars Battlefront II during its loot box controversy fans are a bit more skeptical about EA and their games. Not helping was the time EA said that they would focus more on multiplayer games, which resulted in the closing of Visceral Games, who was working on a single-player Star Wars game.

However, if this job listing for their next Star Wars game is anything to go by it might try to right some wrongs when it comes to EA's previous stance on single-player titles. It will still have online multiplayer but it will somehow get mixed with the campaign.

EA is looking for a Lead Online Designer who can blend a single-player narrative into online play for a supposedly cohesive experience. If this description is anything to go by, this might mean that the game will play similarly to Activision's Destiny or Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball Xenoverse games.

Some have speculated that this new game is a predecessor or remake of the single-player Star Wars title Visceral Games was working on, with added multiplayer. The company has also said that they will continue using loot boxes for their games but in a more fair and fun way.

No word yet on when this game will come out, especially since they're still hiring a Lead Online Designer. Fans can pick up Star Wars Battlefront II now since it has been heavily retooled.
