Early Concept Art of Dark Rey for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Released Online

It looks like original concept art for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Dark Rey (Daisy Ridley) has finally managed to make its way online.

Lucasfilm senior content and asset specialist Phil Szostak just recently took to Twitter today to share concept art from Star Wars artist Adam Brockbank, and in the post fans get to see what an alternate look to Dark Rey in The Rise of Skywalker.

Dark Rey shocked fans when she first appeared in the marketing campaign for The Rise of Skywalker. Dressed in dark robes with a retractable red lightsaber in one of her hands, the image of Dark Rey teased everyone's favorite Jakku Orphan's turn to the Dark Side.

Now, Brockbank offers a different take on Dark Rey. Hunched over with a cowl over her head, the artist's early concept art of Dark Rey features the character with Sith eyes.

You can check out the art piece down here:

This version of Dark Rey definitely gives Rey a Sith look, though we have to say that the image does seem to lack the red shimmer of the Sith lightsaber.

Dark Rey didn't have that much screen time in The Rise of Skywalker. The character appeared to Rey in a Force vision while she was searching the remains of the Death Star hoping to find the Sith Wayfinder so that she could head to Exegol to defeat Emperor Palpatine. Of course, like all Force visions, Dark Rey seemed very, very real – it was thrilling to see Rey take on the Dark version of herself in Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
