Electronic Arts will now release their games on Steam!

EA is returning to Steam after publishing games on their Origin platform back in 2011. Just recently announced on Twitter, the company reached a deal with Valve and the first game to be released is the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It will be launched on November 15 and other games will be released the following year, such as the Apex Legends.

What's great about this partnership is that whether you decide to play on Steam or Origin, you and your friends could still be able to play together. This is what EA's senior vice president Mike Blank would like to point out. The company aspires to connect as many people as they can, and make it "as frictionless as possible" for the players to do (via The Verge).

With this partnership, Steam players will also be able to play popular games like The Sims 4 and Unravel 2. As well as games to be released next year like FIFA 20 and Battlefield V. You can check out the tweet below.

One downside to be considered is that despite being able to run on the same platform, EA will still be a separate one; where some games downloaded years ago on Origin won't be able to be transferred to Steam. Blank also mentioned that the catalog would be similar to what is seen on EA Access.

Over the months prior to this announcement, some people actually had suspicions about this partnership. There's no telling what the actual reason was on why EA decided to return to Steam again, but this could be good news for some of the players.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be available on November 15th.
