Dune: Part Two Trailer Reveals First Look at Paul Atreides' Next Journey


Warner Bros. has finally released the first trailer for Dune: Part Two, the highly-anticipated follow-up to the hit 2021 film Dune. The sequel is expected to cover the second half of the Frank Herbert novel and introduce new characters that will be pivotal in Paul Atreides' next journey.

The 140-minute-long preview gave us our first peek at the sequel where Paul, Chani, and the Fremen are set to face off against the ruthless Harkonnens, who are planning to take control of the desert planet of Arrakis after the death of Duke Leto in the first film.

Several key highlights of the trailer include Paul successfully riding the giant sandworm, our first glimpses at Florence Pugh's Princess Irulan and Austin Butler's Feyd-Rautha, and the first look at the highly-anticipated climactic knife fight between Paul and Feyd-Rautha as they battle for the throne.

Based on what we've seen here, it looks like the sequel will be more epic than the first film as there were a lot of glimpses of the battle sequences that we will witness. There's a lot of promise in the trailer as it gave the impression that it will deliver the same quality as the first film if not better, especially with its dazzling visuals.

The film's synopsis reads: "Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family."

"Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee."

The star-studded cast includes Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Lea Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.

Denis Villeneuve returned to direct the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. He also produced with Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe, and Patrick McCormick.
