Drew Goddard Confirms X-Force Line-Up After Deadpool 2

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 may have led fans to believe that mutants like Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) the Vanisher (Brad Pitt), Zeitgeist (BillSkarsgard) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) would form the X-Force, but most of the team didn't even make it out alive after the start of the mission in the Deadpool sequel.

Sure the Merc with a Mouth might have used Cable's (Josh Brolin) time machine to save the team, but at the end of the movie, it's pretty clear that the X-Force would simply be made up of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), Domino, and Cable.

X-Force director Drew Goddard has also confirmed the line-up, telling Entertainment Weekly that he had always been a fan of the trio, ever since he was a child.

"It really all stems from a place of love; I love those comics, I love Ryan [Reynolds], I love Josh [Brolin] and I love Zazie Beetz," Goddard said. "When I think of the comics, I think of Cable and Domino and Deadpool, and it's really just knowing, ‘Oh, right, there's a world in the X-Universe for the blunt instruments of mutantdom.' It's much more about the characters and my love for them than it is about any plot or storyline. It's more about loving them and wanting to see them bounce off each other."

Though some fans would probably want more mutants in the X-Force team, there's definitely no doubting that Deadpool, Domino, and Cable will be the mainstays of the film. Who knows, the Merc with a Mouth might hold another X-Force audition again and we're going to get another dead-on-arrival team in the X-Force movie.

The X-Force movie doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word. Deadpool 2 is currently screening in cinemas.
