Ryan Reynolds And James Gunn Are Open To A Deadpool/Guardians Crossover

It looks like Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gun both want the Merc with a Mouth to throw around lines with Marvel's space misfits.

Deadpool 2's been wrecking havoc in cinemas with its sass and its brassy humor, breaking the record for R-rated movie film earnings at the international box office during its opening weekend and winning the hearts of critics online.

After seeing the Deadpool sequel, director James Gunn decided to take to twitter to talk about how much he loved the film, thanking the film's director David Leitch as well as actor Ryan Reynolds.

Gunn's tweet set off a thread with the Deadpool star. Replying to the post, Reynolds thanked the Marvel director for his input and asked whether he could have a crossover with Gunn's rambunctious group of cosmic superheroes, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gunn's reply? "Yes, please."

Of course, fans could expect a crossover soon. Disney is in the middle of acquiring 20th Century Fox and its assets. Sure Comcast might be trying its best to get in the way of the purchase by offering a higher bid, but everyone's hoping that the Disney acquisition pushes through. Who wouldn't want to see the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Deadpool make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We all do, really.

Deadpool 2 is currently screening in cinemas.
