Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Confirms Extended Hiatus Following Toei Animation Hack


The Toei Animation hack may have happened last week but it continues to affect the company's major project. Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai has officially confirmed an extended hiatus following the latest episode's delay.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 73 was originally scheduled to premiere on Saturday, March 12, 2022. However, the episode did not air after the hack on Toei Animation delayed production. Instead, an old episode of the anime was broadcast on the same day as it was announced that Episode 73 will be pushed back.

Fans were hopeful that the next episode will be broadcast in the following week but Dragon Quest has just confirmed that the anime will need to take an extended hiatus as the new episodes are not yet completed. The official Twitter account announced that old episodes will be aired in the next three weeks and that an update will be made after April 9, 2022.

The Dragon Quest anime isn't the only project affected by the Toei Animation hack. It was previously reported that One Piece and Digimon: Ghost Game are also taking an extended hiatus as the new episodes cannot resume production due to the incident. Needless to say, fans are hoping that the company's investigation into the matter will soon be solved.

Toei Animation is currently working with a specialized security company to investigate the hack which reportedly affected the entire company. As a security precaution, the studio's online shop has been temporarily shut down. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 73 is titled The Hope in the Flames ("Hono no Naka no Kibo") and was originally set to premiere on Saturday, March 12, 2022. For now, the episode has not yet been given a new release date.
