The hack on Toei Animation is a lot more serious than previously expected. It has just been confirmed that four of the studio's anime projects will be affected by the violation. Unfortunately, this means that the latest episodes of One Piece, Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai, Delicious Party Precure, and Digimon Ghost Game will not be broadcast as originally scheduled!
Toei Animation had previously issued a statement regarding the hack, confirming that the network was illegally accessed by a third party on Sunday, March 6, 2022. The company immediately reacted by shutting down its network along with its online shop, which is believed to be one of the hack's main targets.
Back then, the studio was concerned that the hack was aiming to find and eventually leak transaction information and personal information about Toei's customers and business partners. Although this has yet to be confirmed, the hack has been revealed to affect another more important part of Toei Animation.
The official One Piece website confirmed that the Toei Animation hack has affected production on the upcoming episodes of the anime. This means that the broadcast schedule after March 20 is not yet secured and an update will be announced on the site.
The official websites and social media accounts for Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai, Delicious Party Precure, and Digimon Ghost Game have also announced the delay of their respective episodes. Each anime will broadcast an old episode instead on their scheduled air dates.
Toei Animation is currently working with a specialized security company to investigate the hack which reportedly affected the entire company. As a security precaution, the studio's online shop has been temporarily shut down. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
One Piece Episode 1014 is expected to air on March 13, 2022 but could be delayed to a much later date.
