Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Gameplay Video Has a Ton of Easter Eggs, Including a Forgotten Fan-Favorite!

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot looks like the first legitimately interesting single-player Dragon Ball game we've seen in the longest time, with some even comparing it to the excellent GBA series Legacy of Goku. Since CyberConnect 2 are working on this title, fans are amped up to see some of the set pieces that the developers have planned, especially after their work from the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

Well, thanks to IGN, we have now seen 10 minutes of gameplay and there is a lot to like. This will be a pseudo-open-world game that will have players using Goku to explore the world and do some tasks for friends. There are also a number of side activities for players to do, like gather collectibles and go fishing.

Thankfully, there are a lot of references and easter eggs that make these tasks really fun. The first side quest seen in the video has Goku doing something for his friend Eighter, aka Android 8. Eighter mentions an out of control robot from the Red Ribbon Army, which might be teasing some of the foes Goku will have to fight in the Cell Saga.

Fishing is also a fun reference to the original Dragon Ball since he puts on a fake tail and uses it to get fish. Goku used to do this with his actual tale when he was a kid so this is a really fun way to bring that up. Now, if only we could get a game of young Goku doing his adventures in the original Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be coming out in early 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
