Dragon Ball Super Tease Fuels Buzz About Anime's Comeback

Dragon Ball Super just made its anime comeback in the big screens when the latest movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was released in theaters in Japan earlier this month. With the anime movie heading to U.S. and other regions this summer and more manga chapters coming this year, fans are wondering if a TV series revival is on its way. Now, a new rumor has some convinced that Toei Animation has plans to bring back the anime series in the near future.

The update comes from Toei Animation, the studio behind the Dragon Ball Super anime series among other shonen titles. As Twitter user @DBSChronicles shared, the anime plans to celebrate its new film release with a 'Thank You Stage Greenting' on June 25. The event, which will take place in Shinagawa, will unite Dragon Ball stars as they thank fans and reveal various behind-the-scenes details with them. And hopefully, a new season of the anime series will be announced.

After all, the stage event has a track record of announcing major anime projects. Back in April 2015, the event bought together the anime's cast and announced Dragon Ball Super was being produced. If there's a revival for the anime series coming soon, this would be the best event to announce it.

The Dragon Ball Super anime ended its run on March 2018, right after the conclusion of the Universal Survival arc in the 131st episode. If Dragon Ball Super returns to TV, it's likely that we will see the anime series adapt the manga's Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc and Granolah the Survivor Arc, which are said to take place before the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
