When Will Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Come Out in Theaters in the USA?

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was already released in Japanese theaters on June 11, and fans all over the world are hyped to see the return of the shonen anime. The sequel to 2019's Dragon Ball Super: Broly will feature the action-packed story that will see Son Gohan, Piccolo, and other Z-Fighters of Earth battle the New Red Ribbon Army, the evil criminal organization first introduced in the original Dragon Ball series.

Now that we already have an official release date for theaters in Japan, fans all over the world are wondering when Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be released in their regions.

After all, the global box office has come to embrace Japanese anime in a big way, and Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are eager to cash in on that trend alongside Toei Animation, the Japanese studio behind the upcoming movie. Thankfully, we already have official confirmation about plans for global theatrical release, and fans in North America won't have to wait for long.

Update: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is now showing in North American theaters.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment already announced their global release plans for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, confirming that the highly-anticipated shonen movie will be released in North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, and the Middle East this summer, starting in August.

Crunchyrolla officially announced that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be released in the U.S. on August 19, 2022.

On May 12, Sony Pictures India also confirmed that the movie will arrive in theaters in India this summer.

Will the sub or dub version of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero be released in U.S. theaters?

According to Geekdom101, it was confirmed that the dub and sub version of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be available in theaters in the U.S.

Crunchyroll released a synopsis for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, which reads:

"The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves 'Super Heroes'. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan... What is the New Red Ribbon Army's objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero"
