However, the space crime syndicate known as the Heeters are able to convince Granolah that the Saiyans too are responsible for the tragic past of his race. However, Granolah learns the truth about how a Saiyan named Bardock (Goku's father) saved him forty years ago. It turns out that the real villains of this arc are the Heeters, who is able to gather all seven Dragon Balls to make Gas the strongest warrior in the universe.

Granolah the Survivor Arc

In the previous chapter of Dragon Ball Super, the Heeters make a wish to make Gas the strongest warrior in the universe. When the Heeters arrive in planet Cereal to take down Granolah , Goku, and Vegeta, they revealed that they made this wish, and tells them that since the wish was made after Granolah wished to be the strongest warrior of the universe, by logic, Gas is now the strongest warrior in the universe.

The power-boosted Gas is able to dominate his battle against Goku and Granolah, using various energy weapons he instantly conjures to beat them up. In the end of the chapter, Vegeta goes to where Granolah is and tells him to get up and eat the Senzu Bean. Granolah asks him what it is, and Vegeta says that if he eats the bean, he will recover all his strength. Granolah tells Vegeta to eat it, since he is very powerful, but Vegeta refuses and tells him that he must be the one who defeats the villains with his own strength.

Update: On Monday, Dec. 13, the official Dragon Ball website shared the first sneak-peek for Chapter 79, which features Vegeta telling Granolah to hurry up as he offers the Senzu Bean, so the Cerealian survivor can fully recover and fight Gas. It was also revealed that the title of Chapter 79 is Gas vs. Granolah.

Major Dragon Ball Super Chapter 79 spoilers ahead!

The chapter begins with Elec in his ship, and he says that Gas has become the strongest warrior in the universe. One of the reasons he decides to keep the ship far away from the battlefield is that he doesn't want to get dust in his wine, but there's another reason: another urgent business to attend, but we still don't know yet.

Maki and Oil are with Monaito, and they are threatening him to tell them where Vegeta is. Monaito says he doesn't know, and Oil prepares to hit him.

Vegeta tells Granolah to hurry up, and finally Granolah eats the Senzu bean. Granolah can't believe that he recovered his energy instantly. Vegeta tells him not to waste the Senzu bean.

Granolah saves Monaito just in time, then he smashes Maki and Oil against the rocks. Gas realizes that Granolah has recovered his energy. Monaito gives Granolah his partner Oatmeel, who tells Granolah not to throw it away again. Granolah apologizes.

While he wears Oatmeel on his eye, Oatmeel asks Granolah if he still needs its help now that he is the strongest warrior in the universe, and Granolah said that he still needs his support.

Granolah releases his energy (his left eye changes) and prepares to fight Gas, and he tells Gas that he's his opponent, and Gas says, "That's right".

Gas releases Goku and goes down to the ground to fight Granolah, then Gas forms two shields on his forearms. Gas tries to hit Granolah with one of his shields, but Granolah dodges it. Then Granolah shoots several Ki blasts with his fingers at Gas, but Gas stops them with his other shield.

Gas throws himself at Granolah with his two shields at the same time, but Granolah dodges him, and Gas crashes to the ground. Gas changes his weapon and creates a spear, and attacks Granolah with it, but Granolah stops him, and takes it away.

Then Gas creates several kunai and throws them to Granolah, who deflects them one-by-one. When Granolah is prepared to attack Gas again, Oatmeel warms him that an iron ball is coming from above. Gas has created it without Granolah noticing, and he controls the iron ball with a chain.

Granolah manages to stop the iron ball but Gas makes it explore, creating a dust cloud between them. Granolah can't se anything, but Oatmeel tells him that they are surrounded by something.

Gas shoots all the kunai at the same time towards the dust cloud; Maki and Oil are happy because they believe that the attack has finished Granolah. However, when the dust dissipates, Granolah has managed to stop all the kunai with his hands. Granolah says that those techniques won't work against him. Goku and Vegeta are surprised to see how Granolah fights.

Gas and Granolah continue fighting. Gas creates new weapons (claws like Street Fighter's Vega), another smaller shield, and a spear. Finally, Granolah is able to hit Gas with a powerful punch.

Gas creates a sword and attacks Granolah, but he does it and kicks Gas. Goku and Vegeta wonder why Gas is only using his echnique of creating weapons, so they assume it's a new power he acquired with the wish.

Monaito says no, and explains that the creation technique is an original technique from Gas, and he's been using it for a long time.

Gas creates rotating blades that he puts on his wrists to attack Granolah, but the Cerealian warrior closes his eyes, and is able to top the blades, then kicks Gas again. Granolah wonders why Gas only uses that technique, and Maki realizes that Gas wants to defeat Granolah using his own abilities.

Gas creates a giant sword similar to Cloud's in Final Fantasy VII, then keeps trying to hit Granolah, but he can't. Granolah asks Gas if that's all the power he has obtained, and he says that Gas will not be able to defeat him with only that.

Granolah tries to hit Gas again, but Gas creates a barrier around his body and stops Granolah's attack. Granolah asks Gas if he's been hiding his true power, and Gas tells him that he wants to defeat him using only the technique that he had deveoped over the years.

Granolah shoots a blast of Ki at him but Gas teleports in front of him using the Shunkan Ido. Goku and Vegeta look shocked again. Gas tells Granolah that he has the same power he got, but he even has more power than him.

Gas punches Granolah in the stomach with a powerful punch, then fires a Ki wave at him. Granolah flies off.

Goku and Vegeta are surprised to see that Gas is not using his weapons. Gas also seems surprised at his own power. Granolah returns to the battle and rips off his jacket, which had been badly damaged by the villain's attack, and Granolah tells him that he doesn't think he's showed all of his power.

Granolah teleports behind Gas and punches him, and Gas stops Granolah and kicks him, but Granolah dodges it.

Granolah goes for Gas, who tries to punch him to defend himself, but just before Gas hits him, Granolah uses the Shunkan Ido to teleport, then hits Gas with a powerful kick.

Gas and Granolah hit and teleport using the Shunkan Ido several more times. Goku observes them, and says that the Shunkan Ido is an easy technique to use but difficult one to master. He's a bit annoyed to see that they can do it so easily.

Granolah is taking advantage of Gas little-by-little, since he's able to predict where Gas will appear after using the Shunkan Ido. Vegeta tells Goku to ppay attention, since Gas is teleporting in an irregular way because he's not used to the Shunkan Ido yet.

Granolah manages to punch Gas in the stomach, but Gas returns, looking very angry. Goku tells Vegeta that he's right, and Vegeta says that Granolah is much more precise, and htat he still has a chance to win.

The chapter concludes with Granolah looking defiantly at Gas, who looks angry and worried. It looks like Chapter 80, which is set to release next month, will continue their fight, and it's also likely we'll find out the "other business" Elec is talking about.
