Dove Cameron Wants To Become Marvel’s Live-Action Gwen Stacy

Gwen Stacy might have gained popularity over the years as Spider-Gwen, however, the Spider-Man character has yet to appear n the big screen.

Though it seems unlikely for Marvel to introduce Gwen Stacy into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Tom Holland's Peter Parker's current involvement with Zendaya's MJ, there are still those who hang on to the hopes of Spider-Gwen.

Not only that, but Dove Cameron, Gwen's voice actress in the Marvel Rising animated series, has also expressed interest in playing the character on the big screen. The Liv and Maddy actress was recently asked by MTV which superhero she'd like to play, and it seems like the Gwen Stacy voice actress wants to play the same character in a movie. Well, either Gwen or a Marvel villain.

"Yeah, while I feel like a lot of them have been done recently but, I mean, I would love to play Gwen Stacy... or like a Marvel villain," Cameron revealed.

Cameron has also had experience playing a Marvel villain before, so her preference to play a baddie shouldn't come as a surprise. Cameron did once play the teen assassin Ruby in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

We're not quite sure how Gwen Stacy is going to appear in the MCU, but if Marvel ever does decide to bring introduce Gwen in a Spider-Man movie, Cameron will likely have to compete with other actresses for the role. Fans have been clamoring for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen voice actress Hailee Steinfield to play the role in the MCU, too.
