Given the undeniable chemistry between Se-Jeong and Suzy, it's only natural why fans would want the two to return and continue their love story. But the big question is: does the show really need a second season?
For some viewers, Doona!'s ending was disappointing, especially since the two lead characters did not end up together. There was also no clear indication that they met up again in Japan.
But given the bittersweet ending of the show, there is very little room for a continuation of the protagonists' story.
And although the two went separate ways, they already had closure from years before. The two already apologized for how the relationship ended.

As for the possible story for Doona! Season 2, it's really hard to see how they could continue the storyline of the show.
In our opinion, the show had a good ending. Even though the two characters did not end up together, it was a realistic and beautiful portrayal of how ex-lovers can get closure from a relationship they treasured.
But if the show gets a second season, it's possible that it will explore more of what happens to the couple and how their lives will lead them back together someday; maybe even when they get older. Now that's a possible story that would be good to consider.
