Doona! is a Kdrama that follows a K-Pop idol who retreats from the spotlight. She meets her neighbor and they fall in love, but do Lee Doo-na and Lee Won-jun end up together?

How Did Lee Doo-na and Lee Won-jun Meet?
Lee Doo-na (played by Bae Suzy) is a K-Pop idol who unexpectedly decides to leave her girl group, Dream Sweet. Tired of all the stress and burden of her job, she hides in a share house situated near a university.
When she first meets Lee Won-jun (played by Yang Se-jong), she mistakes him for a stalker; which is why she treats him coldly. Despite this, he continues to treat her kindly. Eventually, Doo-na decides to invite him to share a meal with her.
She learns that Won-jun is a freshman student who decided to move to a share house so he could be near his school. He struggles with a lengthy commute since he has to take care of his ailing sibling and mother.
Because he is determined to help improve his situation at home, he leads a pretty busy life with very little room for romance. But when he meets Doo-na, he grows curious about her.
Eventually, they become close and develop feelings for one another.
Do Doo-na and Won-jun End Up Together?
The way Doona! is told is through a memory. The timeline of events constantly moves from the past to the present.
The two decide to pursue a relationship despite Won-jun moving out of the share house to focus on his studies. Meanwhile, Doo-na has decided to return to the spotlight as a soloist.
The couple continue to have a complicated relationship, partly because Doo-na is prohibited from admitting her relationship to the public.
But after trying, Won-jun has finally given up on their relationship. He breaks up with Doo-na just as she wants to fight for their relationship.
Years later, Won-jun and Doo-na get another chance to meet when they visit their old dorm. The two have a hearty conversation and Won-jun apologizes for the way he ended things before.
They separate feeling hollow but no longer needing an apology from each other.
Fast forward to 2027 and the former couple has started to achieve their dreams. The trajectory of their lives continues to move in different directions, which further pushes them away.
The final scene in Doona! ends with the two almost having a chance encounter while in Japan. They don't get a chance to meet and continue walking their own paths, just as life intended them to do.
So, no, they do not end up together. But the show does a pretty good job of giving its viewers closure despite the failed relationship.
