Doom Patrol Casts Firefly Actor as Mr. Nobody

DC Universe's Doom Patrol series seems to be shaping up nicely. Spinning off of Titans, the series is going to focus on some of the strangest heroes to have ever appeared in DC comics, plus Cyborg. The series has been getting plenty of star-power lately, with Brendan Fraser and Kelsey Grammer reportedly joining the cast of the show.

It looks like we're getting a bit more of that, as Deadline has reported that Firefly actor Alan Tudyk is going to join the series as Eric Morden aka Mr. Nobody. He's been a constant foe for the group, even in the comic books, so adding the character was a smart move. Tudyk is a fine actor so he will probably do a good job if his previous roles are anything to go by.

Here is the description for his character, which is still fairly similar to the comic book version:

"After exposure to unknown experiments by ex-Nazis in post-war Paraguay, the man formerly known as Eric Morden emerges as a living shadow able to drain the sanity of others as the enigmatic, and totally insane, Mr. Nobody."

With the Doom Patrol expected to debut in Titans before getting their own series, it would be cool to see if he appears there first. Then again, if he's expected to be a recurring foe for the group, it's probably better if they establish his motives in the show itself.

Doom Patrol is expected to debut in 2019. Titans will be coming to DC Universe on October 12.
