DC Universe’s Goal Is To Release Original Programming Every Week

It looks like DC fans are going to have a lot to look forward to when Warner Brother's DC Universe launches next month. Not only is the streaming platform going to have Titans premiering in October, but it looks like the site is planning to eventually release new original programs every week.

DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer and DC publisher Jim Lee just recently spoke in an interview with pop culture connoisseur and DC Daily program host Kevin Smith to help promote the upcoming DC Universe streaming site.

During the discussion with Smith on the DC Entertainment YouTube channel, Lee revealed the company's plan for DC Universe: to offer DC comic books, movies and cartoons all in one platform. Not only that, but DC's ultimate goal for the streaming service is to release new material every single week.

"The idea was really to have original programming every single week of the year. So that's our goal."

That's a pretty ambitious goalpost. Then again, DC fans wouldn't want to subscribe to a site that only updates its material once every blue moon. DC's got to sharpen its competitive edge, especially in this era of online streaming.

Of course, the site is going to start off strong. Not only does DC Universe have Titans this October, but it also has this October, but it also has Young Justice Outsiders slated for January 2019. The site is also working on Stargirl for young adults; Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing for more mature audiences, and a Harley Quinn cartoon aimed for children.

DC Universe launches September 15.
