Neko Fujinomiya: The Panty-Less Princess
When we first encountered Neko Fujinomiya in the first season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge, we all believed that she was merely a dumb girl who would not be relevant to the anime’s plot.
But lo and behold, we met her again as a transfer student at Yasaka High School, where Masamune Makabe and Aki Adagaki go.
As it turns out, Neko has a much broader role, which complicates the plot of Masamune-kun’s Revenge.
She was also the bigger threat, not only to Masamune’s revenge scheme against Aki but also to Masamune’s burgeoning harem (if we’re permitted to call it that).
Nonetheless, Neko is considerably different from the rest of the characters in the romantic anime.
She appears like a frail princess, a soft-spoken girl who can’t bring herself to be angry with anyone.
In actuality, Neko is a very tough girl who has gone through so much, comparable to Masamune Makabe.
She was equally obese and overweight as Makabe during her younger days, and worst of all, she was a sickly but affluent girl.
And now that she is in high school, Neko has changed for the better, as Makabe did for himself.
She started taking care of herself more, to the point that she was becoming more of a drug and vitamin enthusiast.
What’s more, Neko doesn’t believe in wearing underwear to school. It stresses her out, and it doesn’t help her physique.
Funny, for undergarments genuinely affect Neko’s well-being, much to Aki and the others’ disbelief. This is the reason Aki and Kowai called Neko the "panty-less princess."
Imagine how hard and uncomfortable it is to not wear underwear at school! It is only a feat Neko Fujinomiya can do!

Why Is Neko Fujinomiya After Masamune Makabe?
I honestly assumed that Neko Fujinomiya was nothing but an extra character in Masamune-kun’s Revenge. I didn’t see her coming as another girl fighting for Masamune’s affection.
The two of them initially met on the streets after Neko’s car almost accidentally hit Masamune and Aki, who were enjoying their private time. Neko exited the car, and she quickly ran to get a hug from Masamune.
She even hailed the heavens for allowing her to find Masamune once more! It was a strange situation, especially for Aki, who was too surprised to intercede between Neko and Masamune.
Since then, Neko has been chasing Masamune. She even moved schools to be with Masamune.
At this moment, I believed Neko might have some sort of hatred against Aki, exactly like Masamune.
Both of their families are rich, and there’s a possibility that Aki might have a shared past with Neko.
One way or another, the two of them might have met before, which is why Neko is using Masamune to achieve her revenge on Aki.
And, long story short, I was entirely wrong. Neko’s abrupt appearance in the story is entirely because of Masamune.
She was looking for the child who opened her eyes and changed her outlook on the world she lived in.

Does Neko Fujinomiya Actually Like Masamune Makabe?
Yes, Neko Fujinomiya is head over heels in love with Masamune Makabe. She sincerely loves Makabe, and there’s no other man she respects and looks up to the most except him.
Neko relates to Makabe so strongly, and she will do anything to be with him. She even stole Makabe’s first kiss solely to fight for his love. Clearly, Neko doesn’t want to lose her battle against Aki Adagaki.
She even lied about her first contact with Makabe. She told everyone how kind Makabe was when he helped her out in the cold, and everyone believed her, except Makabe.
If Aki is out of the picture and Makabe is not planning his revenge, it would be a different story for Neko.
After all, Neko is quite easy to fall in love with. She is kind, soft-hearted, and beautiful—the kind of girl every young man dreams of ending up with.
In fact, Makabe reflected so much on his love for Neko, especially after he rejected her.
He felt sad for Neko since he felt how unconditional Neko’s love for him was.
