If you stayed for the preview of the Doctor Who premiere, you'll know that the cliffhanger that was shown at the end kind of means nothing since the aforementioned preview kind of ruined the suspense. Pretty much everyone knew that the cast wouldn't die in space so it's not too bad seeing a preview, which the official Doctor Who YouTube channel has now released.
As fans can see, the crew are alive and well but are trapped in an alien planet. Granted, the aliens we see look like regular humans but fans of the long-running series can expect some sort of twist. That or another cliffhanger for the next episode.
Jodie Whittaker's version of the Doctor seems to have recovered from regeneration much quicker than Peter Capaldi's version, at least according to Nerdist. Some fans feel this is the case since Whittaker's version of the Doctor is much younger than Capaldi's, which is a nice wrinkle to the Doctor Who mythos.

The much-hyped return of the series has seemingly lived up to expectations, with most fans liking this new version of The Doctor. Sure, there was some controversy about making the character a woman for the first time but if it can be different kinds of white men, there's no problem with the lead being a white woman for the first time.
