Doctor Who Star Ncuti Gatwa Teases Sex Education Exit After Season 4

It will still be a long wait for the Fifteenth Doctor's debut but it looks like Ncuti Gatwa is already saying goodbye to another major project. The upcoming Doctor Who star's latest social media post seems to confirm that he is leaving Sex Education after its fourth season.

Ncuti Gatwa recently shared a new image on his official Instagram account and it shows his trailer on the set of Sex Education Season 4. The caption suggests that Gatwa has wrapped filming on the fourth season of the Netflix series but it also teases his departure from the show.

"Last day. Last time. Bye bubs, thank you for all the lessons and for all the strength," Gatwa wrote.

Not surprisingly, fans were shocked and saddened by the caption. Although some wished Gatwa the best of luck on his next projects, others were concerned about what Sex Education will be like without Eric Effiong.

But will there actually be another season of Sex Education after the fourth? There have been reports suggesting that Season 4 will be the last one for the Netflix show. If this is true, Ncuti Gatwa might not just be saying goodbye to Eric; he actually saying his farewell to the series itself.

For now, it has not yet been announced whether Sex Education Season 4 will be the last one for the series. However, there is a huge chance we'll get an update on the show's future in the next few months. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Ncuti Gatwa has already been confirmed to be the Fifteenth Doctor after it was revealed that the Fourteenth Doctor will be played by David Tennant. In the last Doctor Who Holiday special, Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor regenerated and immediately recognized Ten's teeth.

Sex Education Season 4 is expected to premiere on Netflix in mid-2023. The next Doctor Who specials will air on Disney+ later this year.
