Doctor Who: John Barrowman Torchwood Reunion with David Tennant Cancelled

It looks like John Barrowman might not be returning to the Doctor Who Universe anytime soon. An upcoming Torchwood audio drama that would reunite Jack Harkness with David Tennant's Tenth Doctor has just been cancelled.

The audio drama titled Torchwood: Absent Friends had already been announced and was already set for release later this month. However, Big Finish Productions has just decided not to move forward with the project.

"Big Finish has taken the decision to remove Torchwood: Absent Friends from the Monthly Range release schedule and has no plans to publish this title at this time," the statement read.

The cancellation of Torchwood: Absent Friends certainly comes at an interesting time considering that Barrowman had just been somehow involved in the recent scandal where former Doctor Who star Noah Clarke has been accused of sexual abuse allegations. Although Barrowman's actions were entirely different compared to Clarke, his previous errors were brought back in the report.

Barrowman had already apologized for his actions on the set of Doctor Who where several crew members stated that he would expose himself to them.

"With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously," Barrowman said. "Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed."

Big Finish has confirmed that an alternative title in the place of Absent Friends will be available in all bundle pre-orders for the Torchwood Monthly Range stories 49-54 or 49-60.
