Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Will Debut New, Unexpected Characters

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the long-anticipated sequel to the original Doctor Strange and with it being called Multiverse of Madness, it appears that the multiverse will finally take center stage in the MCU after being teased in the first film. Interestingly enough, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has decided to get fans even more interested by teasing the debuts of some "unexpected" characters for the movie.

While speaking at the New York Film Academy (Via CBR), Feige discussed the process of bringing in new characters to a particular MCU film. He then transitioned into the Doctor Strange sequel and confirmed that multiple new characters would be making their MCU debut, which should get a lot of people excited. It's a really neat bonus and should get a lot of Marvel fans lining up, assuming they don't spoil all the new characters right away. *fingers crossed for Nova*

"The next Doctor Strange film, for instance, features some new MCU characters which will be making their debut in that movie. You won't expect or won't guess who it is but we found a cool way to make it work because we want to make a particular type of movie there. And there was a character who we always wanted to do something with who will fit really well there."

Considering how WandaVision has been hyped as the precursor to the Multiverse of Madness and will be debuting Monica Rambeau as an agent of S.W.O.R.D., it's nice to know that the Doctor Strange sequel will continue the trend of introducing new characters. While sorcerers like Brother Voodoo and Nico Minoru from The Runaways would make sense, we're going to expect some "out there" characters to debut.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on May 7, 2021.
