The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow as a new character is set to make an appearance in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie.

According to The Direct, there is an official Marvel Studios casting grid indicating that the studio could introduce a fairly new character. Marvel is reportedly looking for a Puerto Rican actress between the ages of 12 and 15 for the Doctor Strange sequel who'll play the role of America Chavez. The character is known to eventually use the moniker Miss America.

It's worth noting that this was previously reported by The Illuminerdi earlier this year, however, The Direct provided some new details as well as confirming that the casting is actually happening.

While America Chavez is around 18 years old in the comics, the studio is looking to cast someone younger to play the role. It's uncertain as to why Marvel opted to cast a younger version of the character, but it is possible that the film could allow fans to follow Miss America's story from the very beginning. There's also the possibility that Miss America could go on to be a part of the Young Avengers.

Introduced in the comics canon in 2011, America Chavez is a tough heroine that has a genuine desire to help out others. Raised in the Utopian Parallel, a dimension out of time and space, it is possible that this could be how Doctor Strange crosses paths with her.
