Disney CEO Teases How Doctor Strange 2 Will Connect The MCU In 'Unexpected Ways'


Following Spiderman: No Way Home, Marvel fans are now waiting for the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In Tom Holland's No Way Home, we saw a glimpse of how the Multiverse concept will pave the way for the future of the MCU, making any realities possible.

In the upcoming Multiverse of Madness, Benedict Cumberbatch will be back as the iconic sorcerer, Doctor Strange. Together with Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda who is now the Scarlett Witch. Multiverse of Madness will also be the debut of the MCU newcomer, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

According to recent reports and teasers from the film, looks like Wanda Maximoff will play the main villain. The recent trailer also dropped a teaser for Professor X's return as the leader of the X-Men. With that being revealed, this is just Marvel's way of confirming that there are a lot more appearances from characters from different franchises in the Doctor Strange sequel.

In Disney's 2022 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast, CEO Bob Chapek commented on the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Chapek teased that the film would connect pieces of the MCU in unexpected ways,

"From Marvel Studios, we have the high-anticipated feature Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, which premieres in theaters on May 6. With an extraordinary cast led by Benedict Cumberbatch, this film really pushes the boundaries of storytelling and connects pieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in unexpected ways. I can't wait for you all to see it."

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be Marvel's next biggest project following the Infinity Saga. With rumors circulating around that the sequel will have a mind-bending cross-over that Marvel fans have never seen, even bigger than last year's Spiderman: No Way Home. Directed by Sam Raimi, who previously directed Tobey Maguire's Spiderman Trilogy, makes the film more thrilling.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will premiere in theaters on May 6.
