Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Director Seemingly Shuts Down This Rumored Character

While Avengers: Endgame might be the final MCU movie to some, others are looking forward to the franchise's future, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clearly being the movie everyone is looking forward to the most. Knowing that a sequel to Doctor Strange was already a big deal to many and the fact that Kevin Feige has teased a number of surprise characters for the sequel has got most of us excited.

However, one "rumor" about Googam, Son of Goom, appearing in the sequel have seemingly been disproven by director Scott Derrickson. On Twitter, Derrickson shared a post about this character possibly appearing in Multiverse of Madness and he nonchalantly put "spoiler alert" in his retweet, basically telling everyone that this character will not be appearing in the MCU sequel.

Derrickson also has a much funnier post about Googam appearing, going full Caps-Lock and wondering if he will actually have to put Googam in the film due to "fan demand." It's pretty darn funny and should be amusing to fans of the upcoming movie.

Granted, Googam could always appear in a quick cameo where he's killed off by someone like Scarlet Witch or Doctor Strange but that will probably be the extent of his appearance. We're all still wondering who else could be appearing in the sequel, with many hoping that Strange's on-again-off-again lover Clea debuts. Others with more unrealistic expectations are hoping that Nova debuts but you never know with Marvel these days.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated for release on May 7, 2021.
