Doctor Strange 2 Wrap Gift Hints Clea's MCU Debut in the Upcoming Sequel

As we are getting closer to the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, most of the plot details are still under wraps and Marvel is doing whatever they can in order to prevent the spoilers and surprises from leaking. However, there have been rumors for a while now that Clea might make her MCU debut in the upcoming film although there's no confirmation yet from Marvel regarding it. Now, a piece of strong evidence has emerged which suggests that the character will indeed make an appearance in the film.

Mark Wagner, a member of the stunt crew of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, recently posted on Instagram a photo of the wrap gift that director Sam Raimi gave which is the Doctor Strange (1974) issue #48 comic. "When the director gives you some of his reference materials as a wrap gift," he wrote in his caption.

You can check Wagner's post below:

In case you're not familiar with the significance of this particular issue, it featured Clea, Brother Voodoo, and Sara Wolfe. Doctor Strange and Wong, who are obviously both part of the upcoming film, also appeared in this issue.

Given that the cover of the issue has Clea in it and the caption suggests that it was one of Raimi's reference materials as he was making the film, it further hints what fans have been speculating for a long time now that the character will also make an appearance in the film. However, the question now is which actress is going to play the role. There have been rumors that Charlize Theron was cast to play the role while there are also speculations that Rachel McAdams will also play the character besides Christine Palmer during the film. Of course, we will never know the answer until we finally see it.

The film's premise reads: "The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary."

The cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. Sam Raimi directed the film while Kevin Feige serves as producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll, and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki's Michael Waldron.
