Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Will Reportedly Introduce Black Bolt

After the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home at the box office, all eyes are now on the next MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is expected to explore the multiverse even further and, as the teaser trailer hinted, it's going to be more bonkers than everything that we've seen so far in the MCU.

For the past few weeks, there have been rumors and whispers that several Marvel characters might be making their MCU debut appearance in the film due to the "multiverse" element and the rumored inclusion of the Illuminati in the story. There's also the fact that the film's recent reshoots were due to adding more cameo appearances as a result of the success of Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

According to Fandom Wire, one character that is going to make an appearance in the film is Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans and a member of the Illuminati. It is unknown yet if the character will be played by Anson Mount, who played him in the short-lived Inhumans series, but it is likely that it won't be the case as Marvel Studios might want to distance itself from it.

The report also indicated that, even though the reshoots added more cameo appearances, Black Bolt was already planned to be part of the film in the first place and it's not part of the recent reshoots. It is unknown yet how exactly he will play in the story except that he is part of the Illuminati.

We do have to take note that this didn't come from the major trades nor officially confirmed by Marvel so we have to take this with a grain of salt for now. If the report is true, this might be the proper introduction for the character that fans have been waiting for given that the Inhumans series was panned by the audience. It is also interesting to hear that he will be making his official MCU debut in this film although it is hard to tell for now if it will lead to more appearances in the franchise moving forward.

There are still a few months away before the film gets released in theaters. We will find out soon enough leading up to the release if all the rumors and speculations that we've been hearing are true.
