Kdrama series Doctor Cha officially entered Netflix's weekly top 10.

Doctor Cha airs every Saturday and Sunday on Netflix and TVING. Nearly a month after its release, the Kdrama series formally landed a spot on the streaming giant's charts.

Doctor Cha Enters Netflix's Weekly Top 10 Charts for Non-English Series

Streaming service analytic platform FlixPatrol (via The Korea Times) reported that the JTBC comedy Kdrama series experienced an increase in popularity after releasing its most recent episode on Sunday.

From its 4.9 viewership rating with its episode 1 on April 15, Doctor Cha hit its highest score yet on Sunday at 16.2 percent. The episode also scored the highest rating out of all other programs on other cable channels in the same time slot.

The title also appeared in the top 10 of 17 countries, including Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Japan. Meanwhile, it landed on the No. 1 spot in four countries, including Malaysia and Indonesia.

Created by director Kim Dae Jin and scriptwriter Jung Yeo Rang, Doctor Cha Kdrama explores the life of a housewife who gave up her medical career two decades ago to become a full-time mother. After undergoing an operation due to a life-threatening disease, she decided to undergo medical training again.

However, she faces obstacles, including her husband's affair with his fellow doctor.

Doctor Cha Team Celebrates Milestone

Doctor Cha's production company was also the brain behind several hit series, including The Beauty Inside, The Devil Judge, and Descendants of the Sun.

After the recent success, Doctor Cha's production company, STUDIO&NEW, said in a press release, "The journey of a housewife of 20 years, Cha Jung-sook, through medical residency, is offering a cathartic experience and made itself relatable to those with patriarchy culture in Asian regions."

The company's first division production team head, Shin Dae Sik, also applauded the production team's ability to pull off the talent of its creators while satisfying global audiences.

Doctor Cha will release its new episodes every Saturday and Sunday on Netflix and TVING.
