How Samira and Eric Met in A Quiet Place: Day One
Samira (played by Lupita Nyong'o) and Eric (Joseph Quinn) met after the arrival of the Death Angels in New York City, and it was all because of her cat, Frodo.
While Eric is soaked and terrified inside a flooded subway tunnel, he sees Frodo from above. He wanted to follow Samira and her cat, in fear of being alone in the apocalypse.
Samira, on the other hand, tries to lose him thinking it wouldn't be a good idea to team up.
However, they eventually grow fond of each other when they realize they can play off each other's strengths and work together in the middle of the invasion.
Sam keeps a cool head along their journey despite already having to deal with terminal cancer, while Eric has his strength to thank for when saving each other in the knick of time.
The real danger of it all began when the duo were on the verge of escaping their nightmare by reaching the boats by the harbor. Now, the real question is...

Do They Die or Survive in the Spinoff Prequel?
Samira and Eric do end up at the harbor together, which is perfect timing considering that the creatures can't swim. However, before they could head to the shore, they would have to get past the Death Angels patrolling nearby.
Since Samira feels as though she has lived her life to the fullest somehow, she hands Frodo and her yellow jacket to Eric and decides to sacrifice herself to the creatures by distracting them with her own noise.
Eric and Frodo successfully boarded the ship, leaving Samira venturing off on her own in the deserted city streets.
She listened to Nina Simone's Feeling Good and when she felt as though it was her time to leave the world, she blared out the music and the creatures got to her. The screen turns black, implying she gets killed by the Death Angel.
Whether or not Eric's survival can lead to a sequel of Day One remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
